Tyson Fury will knock out Deontay Wilder – and will then turn his attention to demolishing Anthony Joshua.

That is what the Brit’s promoter, Frank Warren, told talkSPORT as he outlined the Gypsy King’s plans to dominate the heavyweight division in 2020.

Fury will once again do battle with Wilder later this month in Las Vegas, looking to take the American’s WBC belt, after their first meeting in December 2018 ended in a controversial draw.

“This is the biggest heavyweight fight in God knows how many years between the two best undefeated heavyweights in the world,” declared Warren, as he backed his man to end Wilder’s unbeaten record.

“The last fight was a classic; it had the most dramatic last round I have seen. It was was so exciting and this is going to be even better.

“This is all about mental attitude. The good thing about Tyson is he is very mentally strong in the ring and he actually sometimes does jobs on people before fights.

“There has not been a big press tour and I believe the reason for that is that Wilder didn’t want to have keep having confrontations with him because he didn’t know whether he was coming or going last time. Tyson done him in every department.

“Wilder is the biggest hitter in boxing in the last 30-odd years. A concussive puncher, dangerous at any second of any fight. He has been behind in fights so many times and has pulled that big punch that he has got out of the bag, poleaxed them and it is all over. So you have to be top of your game. But he is not a great boxer. Tyson is a great boxer, he has got fast hands, footwork.

“He was outboxing Deontay until he got clipped in the last round and still came back and won the round.

“Tyson took his big shots, he went down twice in that fight and got up both times, so Tyson has got a good chin. He is very tough. I believe Tyson will stop him this time.”

So what happens if Fury does beat Wilder to become heavyweight champion of the world once again?

Well there could well be a third fight between the pair, due to a rematch clause in their contracts, but Warren is hoping he goes on to face Anthony Joshua by the end of the year.

Joshua won back his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO titles from Andy Ruiz Jr in December, having lost them in stunning fashion to the Mexican-American last summer.

“The loser of the [Fury vs Wilder] fight has the right to call a rematch which must take place by June,” explained Warren.

“I believe our man will win so it will be up to Wilder to call for the rematch, and vice versa if the result did go the other way.

“In an ideal world, I would like to see the winner fight AJ. From Tyson’s point of view, to prove he is the best.

“We agreed to this rematch situation [with Wilder] but by the end of the year, we definitely want to see whoever comes out on top – Tyson – to fight Anthony Joshua.

“Joshua has two mandatories. He is fighting [Kubrat] Pulev, who he should beat. Then he is supposed to fight [Oleksandr] Usyk afterwards. But the public – the world – wants to see the best in with the best.

“We have the two best and the next one in is Joshua. I would love to see that fight happen.”
